Book of Mormon Stories

こんにちは! Hello everyone! This email will probably be a bit shorter than usual because this last week was...kinda slow. But every week in the mission is different. Some weeks are packed with appointments and finding amazing investigators, and other weeks are packed with getting doors slammed in your face and investigators telling you they were only interested in English. It's all about that balance.

So the biggest highlight of this week was on Saturday night. The ward put together a Book of Mormon Festival and it finally happened this past week! The main event was a play put on by the ward all about Nephi and his family and their journey to the Americas. It was...hilarious to say the least. Haha, but in all honesty I was impressed by how well it went. We also had our ward mission leader perform his amazing balloon tricks again, so that alone made it all worth it. After they had food and we were able to talk to a lot of people. Didn't get any numbers or appointments set, but we at least planted seeds! Hopefully we can start reaping those rewards here soon <3

Other than that, we just did a lot of planning this week. And goal setting. Our District Training Meeting this week (we have them every Friday morning) was all on setting and achieving goals. So, we sat ourselves down and finally set some goals for the transfer. I'm not the best at goals, so hopefully this actually motivates me to get moving and get stuff done. The transfer is halfway over, and the odds of my leaving Toyohashi after this transfer are high, so I'm trying to do all I can here before I leave.

That's about it for this week. Sorry this email is super short, but...I really have no idea what to say. So instead I will leave you with a fun scripture story that I read recently. In the Old Testament, the book of Daniel includes the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego being cast into the fire because they wouldn't worship the King's false god. I highly advise you to read all of Daniel chapter 3 to truly enjoy this story, but I'll just share the best verse. After they are cast into the fire, the King looks in and says (verse 25): "He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God." Christ was literally with the three in the fire. It's a testament to us that Christ will literally be with us through our trials. While we may not always be able to see Him, He will always be there. So if you are going through a hard time, just remember that Christ is there and if you rely on Him then you can get through anything.

Thank you for all the emails and support!
