Slow and Steady Wins the Race (1/29)
Don't have tons of time today to write, but I thought an update was in order! So here is a short and simple review of the past two weeks:
-Still in Gifu. Haha, just in case you were curious. We're still working away here in Gifu. We get lots of snow, but luckily it only sticks half the time. Biking is pretty sketchy, so we mostly just walk. It's kind of nice walking for a change, but it does limit where we can go. I'm very excited for when Spring comes! The members in Gifu are great and have lots of ideas, but for now we're trying to unify them into doing only a few ideas. It's been lots of work, but it's a fun challenge!
-I got sick this last week with a cold, so we didn't actually do that much. I was pretty confined to the apartment, but when we did go out it was really good. But it's hard going out in the cold when you're sick, haha. So instead we did a lot of phone missionary work and finished things we've been needing to finish for a while. I've been feeling stir crazy though, so I'm excited to actually get out and dendou this week! Hopefully we can meet with lots of really good people.
-We met with two investigators these past two weeks, but it was really good. One of them has a husband who's hantai (doesn't like the gospel) and so we can't "officially" teach her lessons. So instead we play ping pong and answer her questions about God. It's pretty awesome, haha. She has such a strong desire to know God and we're really excited to keep teaching her. And to play more ping pong ;) The other investigator is an older man who's wife and daughter are members. They're so bright and happy and being in their home was a delight. He's still pretty closed off to the gospel, but I'm excited to keep teaching him and help him understand the way this gospel can help him.
-This transfer has been kind of slow going, but I've learned that slow and steady wins the race (taught that to our English students this week, haha) so I'm hoping things will pan out from here on out. Look forward to future updates!
There's not really much more to say. We're about to head to Fukutoku for a companion exchange and then we have zone interviews tomorrow, so expect more exciting stories next week. For now, thanks for all the prayers, support, love, and emails! Don't forget to read the Book of Mormon ;)
愛してます!
